Let's talk about something close to my
heart. Winter. I am totally in love with winter fashion.
Winter and style are basically archenemies,
in my opinion. You can choose between warmth and style. Honestly, only fashion
bloggers who don't seem to be affected by the weather look good in winter. It's
difficult to look chic when you're freezing your a$$ off or bundled up in a
fluffy parka twice your size. Overall, being stylish is nearly impossible,
especially when you live in a country where 60% of the year is spent
indoors. But I'm here to tell you there is still hope! Even in -20 degree
weather, you can look stylish! Here are a few tips to help you stay warm and
stylish this winter.
Turtlenecks.
Turtlenecks are making a comeback! Have
they ever gone away? I'm not sure, I thought they were cool...? Wear two
turtlenecks on a cold day. Wear a thin, tight turtleneck underneath a thicker,
bulkier one.
Long Socks
This is critical for staying warm. If
they're long enough, you can show them off or tuck them under your tall boots.
Even if you're not wearing warm boots, you can keep warm by wearing two pairs of
long socks.
Tall Boots
This is yet another item that will have an
effect on your appearance. In the winter, well-fitted tall boots can help you
keep your shape. Look for boots that fall just below the knees and fit snugly
around the calves. This will make you appear slimmer.
Hats.
Any type of hat will keep your head warm.
One of my personal favourites, which I'm not sure qualifies as a hat but goes
on your head so... I suppose it counts? Earmuffs! Earmuffs are essential for
walking around the city, especially with the wind tunnel effect on downtown
streets. You should protect your ears from the biting cold.
Mittens.
Do you enjoy having cold hands? I despise
feeling cold hands. Nobody wants to shake the hand of someone who feels like an
icicle. If you're going to a meeting, please wear gloves so you don't
permanently scar the person you're meeting with.
